Carbonholism in Vicenza

Campagnolo offers 19 different wheelsets, but only two silver alloy cranksets.

Who are they building components for? Use the "comments" feature below to tell us what you need that Campagnolo isn't building.

  1. 1 1/8" threadless headset (why on earth do they make only 1"?)
    Alloy seatpost
    Record level silver brake calipers
Silver hubs with lower hole counts
    Compact triple crankset
    12-30T 11-speed cassette

  2. A true cross country/commuting crank

    A "legacy" group 7-speed/DT shifter

  3. A practical suggestion for Campagnolo is that they produce an 11 speed option which can be used by Junior category racers (restricted gearing), they could produce a 14-up cassette to go with the 52-tooth chainring, or a 13-up cassette, to go with the 48-tooth chainring. The latter option was still there with the older 10s compact cranks and standard 13-36 cassette. A limited market perhaps, but it's there, and it is a mistake for Campy to neglect it.

  4. I am glad for the silver alloy Athena option. While I go out of my way to find NOS sqaure taper cranksets from the modern golden age for most of my bikes, that is 9/10spd Centaur/Chorus/Record in alloy, the 11spd stuff works very, very well.
